ESSENTIALS

1.  The first rule is to read the rules! You are responsible for yourself!

2. Prejudice, remarks, or jokes that are based on race, sexual orientation, gender, etc shall not be expressed here.  Hate or generally unwelcoming speech is worth a ban.

3. The following is not allowed for public discussion:

- Venting (may be discussed in vent, of course)

- Sex life/sex in general (may not be discussed at all)
- Drug/alcohol use (may not be discussed at all)
- Other roleplay/general drama (especially name dropping!)

a. Please try to use trigger warnings or spoilers when any of the following are mentioned ANYWHERE: abuse, eating disorders, graphic depictions of blood, sexual assault, childhood trauma, politics/real world events.

4. Theft is not tolerated. This includes not properly crediting lineart, a base, or a photo for face-claiming. We do ban for art theft. Repeatedly failing to source face-claims/photography used may merit a ban.

5. You will not be kicked for short posts or grammatical errors here, but we do ask you do your best to do legible posts. (:

6.
STAFF RIGHTS:  Staff reserve the right to intervene on any issue that occurs in the RP chats.  If it's private, then keep it private.  Staff reserve the right to kick or even ban for general displays of immaturity.  This is supposed to be an outlet for people and staff are not paid, so no one has to put up with bad attitudes here!  You will receive the energy you put out!

7.  Characters must be realistic in all aspects except for their advanced communication/dialogue.  Keep to realistic colors/patterns, items and backstories within reason, and breed mortality for the most part. This is elaborated in the character creation guidelines linked at the bottom, but generally, these are just normal looking dogs.

a. Wolves and wild dogs are banned as they aren't in the area.  No you cannot RP them as if they're imported pets. Coyotes are allowed as loners/in their own familial groups.

b. We do acknowledge certain breeds/types of dogs may be unrealistic to have, but we also don't want to completely prohibit them.  Too much of a rare breed or a dog that may have a lower survival rate than say, a basic mutt, may be "banned" temporarily.  This is shown in the discord if a ban does occur, or you can simply ask a staff if there are exisiting breed/rarity bans.  However, so long as they aren't under a ban, we do allow albinos, hybrids (wolf-dogs/coy-dogs), genetic rarities (vitiligo for example), and rare/imported breeds under the condition that the user playing them plays to any limitations that their breed or rarity may possess.  For example, a poodle character may routinely ask other dogs to help pull out matts and detangle their fur to avoid fatal matting issues.  Albino dogs may outright avoid the sun and may be prone to getting ill.  Coy-dogs or wolf-dogs may have trouble finding their place in the pack to dogs fearful of wild canines.  In short, as long as it isn't under a temporary ban for realistic population control, and you play to potential factors that inhibit the character, you can have a rare breed, a hybrid, or a genetic rarity here.

c.  Loners are allowed but discouraged as your main character given their lack of main story involvement.  Inactive users however, are encouraged to have a loner who is allied to the pack instead to make it feel more immersive if they aren't able to participate as much.

If any of our rules are confusing or you want an individualized explanation/elaboration please always feel free to DM a staff ranked user or see our feedback channel. We WANT you to ask questions.  This is a highly niche, unique roleplay and we EXPECT people to be confused sometimes.  PLEASE ask questions if you need to.  Just please forgive us if we just copy and paste from the FAQ because if it's already been answered... well, we've been open for three years now.  We're too tired sometimes to paraphrase something already written, hehe.
