Comic and Written Gore Ahead

Welcome to the Story So Far.  Our past, role-played out plots are posted here from the last few years.  This is not a required read as a lot of players have come and gone and the plot is starting fresh in a new location, but if you'd like for your character to be a long-time or pack-born member, then you may need this to reference to!

When a chapter finishes, it will be recapped here.  The roleplay is currently on Chapter Three : Those of the Mountains.

CHAPTER ONE: BLOOD ANSWERS FOR BLOOD

ch1.png

Chapter One began with Carolina as leader and the pack struggling to figure out a string of murders.  Four dogs lives were taken in a short time.  By the fourth time, an Australian Shepherd by the name of Mariana was found at the scene, covered in blood, and with defensive woods.  She was promptly exiled, but the pack was nervous this wasn't the end; how did a simple Australian Shepherd kill four dogs, two larger than her, on her own?
This came to light when a patrol warned the pack of mysterious yelping sounds down at the abandoned gas station.  A massive Kangal hound by the name of Masienna was found to be attemping to kill Misho, son of the previous leader.  He was saved (to many dogs dismay) and Masienna was brought home for El Acabado- her final judgement.
She was sentenced to death at the tooth and claw of her pack.  But before the group lunged at her, she gave a speech, and the pack was so desperate for an explanation, they listened intently.

"I tried to stop, for my sons, I couldn't leave them. But when the taste of blood hit my lips, I felt alive again. And I saw the awakening in this dying pack, the fear, and I couldn't stop any longer. I had a job. And I still stand by it. Because at the end of the day, all of us know that these were dogs that were unmemorable, and I know in the back of all your sick minds, you all think the same thing; at least there is one less mouth to feed now. So kill me if you wish, but at least I would have died for a reason. At least I will die more than just a mark on a rock and a ravaged corpse dragged away by mountain cats. The only difference between me and you, is I had the courage to do what you couldn't and still cannot. And I will die with purpose and memory, for years from now, me and Mariana's names will still roll of the tongues of your pups pups. Goodbye then, you vultures, and may you never rest easy again hearing this undeniable truth."

She was then dog piled by the group, by terriers and mutts alike.  The pack members who remember this time feel disturbed by the way she did not move or make a sound as her body was torn apart.  Her sons watched this unfold, and fled the pack.

CHAPTER TWO: RATTLING BONES

ch2.png

Chapter two revolves around a group of dogs who began a revolt against Los Sabuesos.  They named themselves the El Estrago - The Ravage - and were more than upset with how half-wolves and half-coyotes were looked at in the pack.  Some were blamed for the murders occurring in chapter one, and the wounds from that ran deep.
The group began by Aster, a wolfdog, but after he was reported missing, the mantle was taken up by Mariana.  No one ever did find the wolfdog, and his disappearance only further increased tensions between them and Los Sabuesos.
However, after a mysterious disease and harsh weather strikes the lands, the groups reluctantly reunite before any serious war can unfold.  Mariana insisted she would always do what's best for the pack, and that their temporary allyship meant nothing, but as the disease festered, it was clear that their newly formed and small group would not survive.  The disease became known as the Rot, and many lives were lost.
A dog known as Dodge, a Sabuesos exile for not obeying the law, began to round up dogs with the Rot, and lead them to El Estrago's old camp.  Here, he began a horde known as the Rattlers, and used the diseased hounds to do his bidding, including killing and eating dogs from Los Sabuesos and wolves from the Howlers.  This left a deep tear in the Howlers, and the already small familial group was not able to recover.
For many moons the Rattlers plagued the lands, driven only by Dodge's keen skill in bringing them food.  Those who became too lost minded had to be put down, but most obeyed him.  Los Sabuesos became a dying breed.
That is, until the Great Dane-Shepherd mutt, Jack, came up with a plan to cause a collapse in the mine.  This killed most of the rattlers, and lingerers were later put down by humans, who in turn had to investigate the strange collapse.  A terrier mutt named Winrey attempted to warn the Rattlers, but this resulted only in his exile, for the Los Sabuesos prospered in the end. At least, what was left of them.
With humans invading the land after finding a hundred mysterious corpses of rabid dogs, the pack was forced to move on, taking to the river and heading to the far off mountains.  Don't ask us why they didn't move before when they were starving, we don't have a good reason, thank you.

The group has begun a new start amoung the Jemez Mountains- also labeled Blackstone Mountains by the dogs.  Jack has been voted leader.  It will prove difficult to evade humans who travel along hiking trails and camp grounds, but the group has settled in an area that is forbidden to enter to preserve natural wildlife.  This concludes chapter two, and begins chapter three.
